It's late and Sheshe is up. I haven't been here lately to type what's been going on. There is so much happening. I've been appointed Assistant Drama Coach. We went to a spiritual gifts class that was really informative. And I've been doing well in my devotions. I'm reading in Romans and really enjoying it. Although, I must admit, I enjoy it more when I'm not quite so tired. It's not really light reading! lol.

I'm also reading The Three Battlegrounds by Francis Frangipane. It's a good book. I've had it for a number of years now, but only have just recently gotten around to reading it. I should have read it a long time ago. Although, maybe I wouldn't have gotten the same information out of it as I am now.

I've been working out at the gym and feel great. I've been losing weight, too. I'm so glad to see the numbers on the scale go down. It's not just the exercise, though. I've also been changing my eating habits. I don't eat just to eat anymore. And I'm drinking more water, too.

I still haven't had a chance to do much reading on html. I wish I could do that, but it seems there are never enough hours in the day. Between looking after the kids, the house, working and all the other extra things, learning the language doesn't seem to be a priority. Oh well. Some day.

THE TRIPLE FILTER TEST

In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.

One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?"

"Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left: the filter of usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "If what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

This is why Socrates was a great philosopher & held in such high esteem. Use this triple filter each time you hear loose talk about any of your dear friends.

I just discovered that I'm not going to be able to keep the right time all the time on my entries. Since I live in Saskatchewan and we never experience time changes in Spring or Fall, we do not fall in Mountain time or Central time all year long. In the summer, we are on Mountain time. In the Fall, we are on Central time. Keep that in mind when reviewing past posts.
It's really late, but I just wanted to say how glad I am that I'm finally doing something about exercising. I have a membership at the racquetball club now, and spent over half an hour walking on the treadmill. Walking wouldn't seem like it's something so hard to do, but it is really hard to get my butt out the door and on the pavement. It's also much safer and warmer inside the club! The only thing is, I felt really stupid when I was done. I couldn't even figure out how to turn on the shower! I'll have to ask someone when I go next time, before I need the shower.

I don't know how much time I'm going to have to work on this. There is so much to learn. I still want to do this, though. At the very least, maybe it will help me to keep a journal.

BTW - GOD IS GOOD!!!

This is my first time ever trying something like this. I like to talk, and don't really mind who's listening. So I figured this would be a good place for me to express myself. We'll see how this goes.
